Chad Closes Embassies in Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, and Israel

Chad’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the closure of the country’s embassies in Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, and Israel, according to a report by TribuneEchos citing the Chadian foreign ministry.

The ministry explained that the closure of Chad’s embassy in Tel Aviv is primarily due to financial reasons. Foreign Minister Dr. Abderaman Koulamallah stated that shutting down the embassy in Israel will not affect diplomatic relations between the two countries.

As for Côte d’Ivoire, Chad’s diplomatic representation will be handled by its embassy in Cotonou, Benin, while Gabon will be represented through Chad’s embassy in Equatorial Guinea.

In the same context, N’Djamena announced the opening of a new Consulate General in Kigali, Rwanda, which will operate under the authority of Chad’s embassy in the Republic of Congo.
